I read both of these articles for another class but thought they were relevant here.
ReplyDeleteThe first article talks about the high-stakes pressure put on children to succeed. It was interesting to think about "red-shirting" a five year old in order to give him a leg up on the competition. The article talks about Lafayette Elementary as well. This is something to think about when reflecting on the community for your students.

The second article talks about bringing joy to the classroom. I just like what this article suggest. It is what I would want my classroom community to be like.
